Week #6- Podcast & Windows Movie Marker.

Podcast & Windows Movie Marker.

Well my dears the celebration is over and its time to get back to work. Party Done!!!!

After I realized week 5 wasn't so bad I decided to give this EDET class another shot.
This week was all about Podcast (Audacity) & Windows Marker.

I went fishing. I threw out my line and something got caught on the hook. I started to reel in my line with that hope for  the catch of the day, a big fish but instead it was 'Tasks'.

The tasks for the lesson were:
πŸ”Ž Go to Ninite.com to download audacity with Lame mp3 encoder.
πŸ”Ž Create a Podcast using audacity.
πŸ”Ž Download windows movie marker from Youtube downloader.
πŸ”Ž Use windows movie marker to create a video including music, narration, titles       and credits.
πŸ”Ž Share the Podcast and Video with the Instructor.

Well I had an open mind on this class but reality slapped me hard.

I went to the site to download the audacity app and Lord have mercy it was an epic fail because that's what happen when you have a cheap device.

But there was hope for and my cheap device. I quickly went to the app store on my device and download a voice recorder editor. I was now back in the game, my cheap device and I.

Lets move on........
We had to create a podcast on a topic we're comfortable with....Well obviously I chose 'Family'. I created a script for my podcast which was the easy part.

Then the stress became real. It evolved from a thought in the mind and then became an actual reality. The creation of the actual podcast using audacity was the real 'Mccoy'. The words were there but the music was still on it's way on slow boat from China. It was like the boat sank and the music had to take a canoe. Ugh! I was beginning to feel like my hairs were falling out one by ten.

I waited from an inspiration and 'ding' I got one.

I love the movie "Sing" and Tori Kelly sang a song about 'Don't you worry about a thing '. So I used the music to the script I had and bammmmm the podcast was created.

It was time to tackle the big fish......

So as we have establish before my device is cheap so to download movie marker was a big red light.
Again I had to go the app store on my device and download a cheap wanna be version of movie marker than can allow me to edit and so fort.

I created my video on the topic 'Family'  with the app, did my editing and replayed it to make sure it was all put together.

*Challenges:
πŸ‘Ž The biggest challenge I faced was having a cheap device. But as great men say "There is always another way".
πŸ‘Ž Another hi-cup was the audacity recorder I downloaded did not come with many features, so much could not be done to the recording.
πŸ‘Ž Challenge #3 presented itself with a grand appearance. The movie marker used was a stressor. It took a good decade to master it's use  and if I was not careful I would lose the information and I would have to start over.
πŸ‘ŽOn top of that drama, it was time to share the video with the instructor and unfortunately the movie editor app would not allow me to share the file. I had to use my phone and record the video then share it with my instructor via google drive.

How can I use what I've learnt:
podcast and movie marker can be use in the classroom to enhance learning; make learning fun. Students love things that interest them and using podcast and movie marker can intrigue their learning help them to remember information. The podcast can be in the form of a song and the movie or video can compliment the podcast and create a beautiful piece for a lesson.

The lesson wasn't so bad after all.....

Stay tuned for more blogs!!!!!!!
