Gmail & Hotmail
The excitement was real. My teacher Mrs. Marsh-Roberts walked into the class and introduced herself. Her bubbly spirit captured my attention but at one point I thought to myself, "She must be going off". Her love for teaching and learning was just mind blowing. The class which occupied twenty-six of us was ready to take on the challenge of this new course.
The task was to create two email accounts, one as gmail and the other as hotmail. I thought to myself, "Oh, this assignment is a walk in the park". The first step was to go to www.gmail.com and www.hotmail.com, complete the general information requested and then signed into both accounts created.
YES! I felt unstoppable but then my heart sunk at the sight of the next task. I had to create a group contact list consisting of the entire class emails. My face literally looked like this...
*crickets chirpping*
The thought of this task lingered in my mind like a bitter taste in my mouth. "What is this?", the struggle became real. Questions ran through my head like Usain Bolt crossing the finish line. "Does email even have group contacts?". It was a challenge to even find my contacts in my email but praise be to God help was on its way.
I explained my challenge to a friend of mine and like an angel with a glorious shinning halo she came to my rescue. She explained how I should go about completing the task and I listened keenly and followed every step. I had to add everyone's email to my contact list, click on the menu button and select contacts and then proceed to add the various emails in my contact list.
After that step I had click on the menu icon, select contacts, select 'New group', create a new group and add the specific contacts under the group list and save.
Phew! The task was over. I have conquered, after climbing over mountains and swimming across deep oceans.
Although my challenges arise the task was very informative and beneficial. I've learnt how to create a contact list and a group contact list in gmail and hotmail.
I will use emails as a form of communicating with my students to send and receive information pertaining to school matters.
