Media, Learning Styles & their Theories
Class this week was very informative. Mrs. Roberts is the best at what she does and the lessons are always so clear and engaging. In this class I learnt about the role of technology in education, media and different learning styles and theories.
The tasks was to find the role of technology in education, compare the different learning theories and research the different types of learning styles. The class was then placed into groups to complete another set of tasks, then each group had to present their findings in a creative way.
My group got the concept of 'mind mapping' and presented the information in a form of a newspaper.

Other group presentations were also super awesome and interesting. The forms in which they presented made the information easy to retain. Here are few pictures to reflect on the informative, funny and interesting moments of the lesson.

Who can forget the role of technology in education, which is to enhance learning. I also learnt about the types of media and they are:
MANIPULATIVES
VISUAL![]() |
PEOPLE
![]() |
| AUDIO |
VIDEO
Everything we use to make learning easier is educational technology and everything we use to make life easier is technology. With that said, who knew there were so many types of learners; enough to sum up the acronym MOUSSA.
Types of Learners:
Maerick Learner
Overachiever Learner
Unmotivated Learner
Sound Learner
Stands-on Learner
Accelerated Learner
All these sophisticated types of learners stems from theorist and their four main theories who based their studies on the types of learners. They are the Psyco-socialist, Cognitivist, Constructivist and Behaviourist.
Throughout this lesson there were no challenges faced but what I learned was very beneficial and this lesson will help me to understand the different learners I'm faced with as a teacher, understanding them more in dept, changing up my teaching strategies to suite them and to take into consideration how they each learn.
